Old Photo Shoot- Unedited
I also did an experimental shoot with my brother and sister, but my teacher said it was somewhat irrelevant to my series topic. So :( I covered them in make-up. haha :)
I was thinking of doing another shoot, of them painted in fabric patterns. :) We shall see though.

As a Senior
Well, For one.
I am a senior in the Visual Arts Department, at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. This is my second year at this school, because I transferred last year.
As a senior I must have a series of 12 to 24 pieces of art, of a theme. Considering the fact that I am in AP Studio Art, I must complete about fifteen. My series topic is:
AFRICAN FABRICS/ FASHION.
It has been a struggle finding inspiration, and continuing with the pieces that I have started. I have found some inspiration here and there from African clothing designers from African Fashion week. And i am trying to get tickets to the show, but I realized that the show was after I graduated. Anywho, I did contact one of the designers, Arewa Designs, and she is willing to speak with me and possibly give me advice as well. I really wanted to do my series on fashion, but also something with Africa. I love the fabrics. So far I have been doing collage pieces, and paintings, with fabric in them.
These are photos that are semi-completed, or are completed. I have struggled some, but I think it will be strong in the end.
Medium: Acrylic, Fabric
Medium: Oil paint, fabric

It was awesome. i decided to make a promo video, because I thought it would be fun to try out. My friend Darius but is known as Seiko is a WONDERFULLLLL singer, fashionista, and an aspiring model, which he would like me to become his personal photographer. :) I am trying to help him build a portfolio. :D And Tyra is an artist and a greattt photographer. She helped me come up with some ideas, and as well took some photos. :)
