New Years :)

Happy New Years Everyone!
I mean it, really. I just didn't really enjoy mines, until the after effect of me being mad.

What did you do on New years eve Jamilla?
My response: I blasted techno, and Mistah Rapseys mixtapes, all night while finishing my paintings for the Parsons Challenge, as part of the process to apply, and I did a new drawing in my BIG sketchbook which turned out pretty sexy. :)

I also filled out my FAFSA form, so I guess I am content, with MYSELF, of course. I don't how content I am with others, but it'll eventually rub off. I mean hey it's a new day, a new year!
I'm graduating this year, going to college! There's nothing to be mad about, Spring is around the corner! I love life no matter how many things upset me, it's just an emotion. But anyways, enough with me ranting off.

Hope you all enjoyed yourselves, didn't get anyone pregnant, and got home safely!

Parsons Challenge

So, one of my top art schools that I am applying to is Parsons New School of Design, which is located in  N.Y. To apply, not only must you submit an application, an essay, and your portfolio, but you must complete the PARSONS CHALLENGE. dun dunn dunnn.... :D

Basically I have to explore something overlooked within my familiar surroundings and interpret it in three different ways through any medium of art accompanied by individual essays for each.

My topic: My red chuck taylors :)

Portfolio for College :D

Wow, this college stuff really kills.

I’m applying to about 8 schools, and I am working on my TOP 5 over the break.

Not only do I have to submit my application and write essays, but I must submit a portfolio and for some schools a challenge! Gahhh -___-

My TOP 5 Schools are:

• Parsons New School of Design
• School of Visual Arts
• Pratt Institute
• Suny Purchase
• Cooper Union

Yes they are all art institutes, and they are all located in NY.

Cooper Union requires a Home test of 6 COMPLICATED art pieces(challenges) which we only have three weeks to work on, including the regular admissions process with the portfolio. As well as Parsons. 

Ay Dios Mio, que yo va serrrrr coño!

But My other school choices are:

• School of Art Institute of Chicago
• Pacific Northwest (Portland, Oregon)
• M.I.C.A (maryland institute of art)
• VCU (Virginia commonwealth university)

I’m not sure If I am missing any, but right now I am working on my Parsons Challenge and waiting on my cooper union home test. I think I am going to post pics of my portfolio…Tell Me what you think…If I do

The Day After Christmas :)

Hello Everyone!

I am feeling GREAT right now! I got so much inspiration yesterday from spending time with my family! I love them so much, we are all we have. We had a photoshoot yesterday with our new pajamas and whatever other christmas gifts we got! I always play techno when we are doing something together, and it inspired me to finalllyyyyyy make my first Single mix. Yes if you did not know, I am a Dj and I go by the Dj name Illa Jams. I have been djing for two years, and this is my first mix that I have been lazy on making!

Merry Christmas To All :D

This morning my little brother, who is ten years old, woke up to see not that many presents. Or at least presents that he did not want, and started kicking them around and saying it was the worst christmas ever. Not only that but when I got out of bed, I found a note he wrote to "Santa", which was very suprinsing when I read it. I had no idea he had such vocabulary, the school he goes to know has really changed him slowly. Those kids are rich, spoiled, and ignorant, but we aren't and I guess it's hard for him to feel comfortable around them at times. But I love my little brother, and he actually had some really cool presents. But here is the note:

He is a terrible speller, but I am pretty sure you can figure out what he is trying to say.

Anywho, even though I got my christmas presents before Christmas, I am still greatful for everything I have, because it is better than having nothing at all! I won't be spoiled, and throw a tantrum for what I did not receive, I will just work hard for what I want and get it for myself!

But for christmas I got
